What Is Holistic Health?

How are you feeling moving into this new spring energy?

Have you noticed any changes in your energy or mood? I know I sure have! As the days become longer and nature awakens from its slumber, I notice my routines shifting as well.

I'm less inclined to want to meditate in the morning and instead opt for a mindful walk outside. I notice my body wanting lighter foods like salads, fresh fruit and smoothies versus hearty soups and stews. This is the time of year where our bodies begin to reawaken. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, spring is known as the time of year when we shed stagnation from the body and cleanse the body (especially the liver) of any stuck energy that no longer serves us.

Have you noticed these changes within yourself as well? What is your body wanting more of?

Although we often forget, we too are a part of nature and move with the cycles and energy of each season.

With this in mind, I wanted to tell you about my secret cornerstones of holistic health that have helped many clients find and maintain balance no matter what season they're in.

 The Cornerstones Of Holistic Health

Holistic health goes beyond the body and what you eat. It is about looking at all the areas of your life that affect your mind, body and spirit.

Looking at health through a holistic lens includes important areas such as; a healthy mindset, self-love, healthy relationships, emotional well-being, joy, creativity, spiritual growth, living in alignment with your true self and more.

For many of us, we can get caught up in focusing on just the body. What it looks like, the number on the scale and valuing ourselves based on our appearance, but we are so much more than that!

Our body is only one piece of the puzzle.

In my coaching sessions we use what is called the circle of life. It consists of twelve different areas that make up our health and well-being. This simple yet effective tool is the foundation and cornerstone to living a healthy, joyful and balanced life.

Take a moment to check in with each area in the graph above.

What areas do you feel are the most balanced? Where do you feel could use some attention?

Wherever you're at, I honour you and want you to know that your goals aren't as far away as you might think… my first step with clients is evaluating the areas of their live that need more attention and creating a set of action steps to get them to where we want to be.

If this resonates and you'd like to dive deeper in creating healthy and mindful habits for yourself, I invite you to join me in my 1-on-1 coaching program or book a 60-min health coaching session. In my programs we dive deep into creating balance and joy in all areas of your life so you can feel your best and thrive.
