Thank you for checking out Juice Love! My name is Jennae and Juice Love is where I hope to inspire you to try juicing.
Juicing fresh vegetables and fruits is a beautiful blast of intense nutrition that I give myself every day. My juices always leave me feeling energized and so alive. Once your body gets used to this daily flood of nutrients it may become an addictive habit, like it has for me!
The magic about juicing is that the nutrients are easily absorbed, practically infused, into the body, with very little digestive effort. The juicer has already done the work for your digestive system in that it has removed the insoluble fiber from the plant. With this task out of the way, all you have to do is drink and let your body assimilate a wealth of nutrients. If you experience digestive problems or if you are sick, juicing is a gentle way to nourish your body without stressing your digestive system. If you want to feel healthier, have more energy or boost your nutrition, juice juice juice!
My goal with Juice Love is to promote juicing in addition to a healthy diet. I have been creating healthy recipes for as long as I can remember, but fresh juice recipes are my absolute favorite. Juicing has been a vital part of my life for many years – you name it, I’ve probably juiced it! I believe in the benefits of daily juicing because I’m living it. If you happen to be my family, friend or colleague, you’ve probably received juices from me at some point because I show my love in juice. Some people give flowers but I give juice. And to you, I give my passion for juicing and will share my best juicing recipes and experiences. I hope you’ll be inspired to nourish all the cells of your body and feel it thrive!
I had the recent privilege of attending two Native Indian cultural events led by Algonquin Elder Barbara Dumont-Hill. Her peaceful and powerful presence was absolutely captivating and an honour to experience. She greeted us with the words: “Are you living your life in a good way?” and explained that this is the traditional greeting of her […]Read more
There is something so beautiful and sophisticated about behaving with good grace, especially in situations that are disappointing or challenging. It is not easy and probably not the most natural reaction, but consciously responding to unpleasant situations with grace elevates your whole being. Acting with grace means that your own behaviour and actions aren’t degraded, […]Read more
Our world is so fast now. Instant messaging. Instant response. Expectancy of instant response. We’ve become hyper vigilant in our technological and busy lives. But there’s one basic skill that we can and should continue to cultivate. It’s a skill that we can pass along to our children. It’s a skill that can create deep […]Read more
Finding balance is a constant theme of my life – striving for balance in the face of constant change. Life is always in flux: personal needs, family needs, work demands, weather, emotions, hormones, illness, time (to name a few;) and then mix that up with the flux of the energies of the people and critters […]Read more
This juice is inspired by 98 year old Tao Porchon-Lynch, the oldest yogi in the world. This beautiful person totally and completely embraces life and her secret is ‘breath’. In her words: “If you’re in tune with your breath, you’re in tune with the power of the life within you. If you feel that within […]Read more
The Warrior radiates power. This is the juicing equivalent of Warrior 2 pose, which means “…having a thousand heads, a thousand eyes, and a thousand feet, wielding a thousand clubs, and wearing a tiger’s skin”. Oh ya. That is precisely how this juice makes me feel! Deeply strong and powerful, ready to face whatever battles […]Read more
The best thing about October is pumpkins! Love. Them. I see pumpkins in the store and I instantly want to visit a pumpkin patch, decorate my house, bake pumpkin muffins, toast the seeds and (you know it) make Happy Pumpkin Juice! I have a long list of favorite juices but pumpkin juice is at the […]Read more
Fall is my favorite time of year but it’s also when sickness easily spreads. Our immune systems are challenged by the changing weather and germs flowing from the back-to-school gang. I have a magical juice recipe to supercharge your immune system and believe me, it works! It is fully loaded with Mother Nature’s best defenders: […]Read more
Luscious and in season, melons and zucchini are bountiful right now. Growing season is relatively short in Ottawa so I cherish this time of year when I get to juice fresh and locally grown goodies. I am especially loving all the fresh zucchini and am adding it to everything I make these days: pasta, casseroles, […]Read more
Glowing Orange is the summery expression of my favorite carrot/apple juice. I love carrot/apple juice but watermelons are in season and are begging to be juiced! How can I resist?!! The addition of watermelon adds a sultry mellow flavour which I like to liven up with a little bit of lemon, resulting in a fabulous […]Read more
Nothing says Hello Summer like just-pulled-from-the-earth-rhubarb. This is the time of year I greedily offer to help out friends, neighbours and pretty much anyone who has extra rhubarb growing in their yard. In my house we devour rhubarb crumble as quickly as I can make it. And since I juice most plants that cross my […]Read more
Juice shooters are fabulous for so many reasons. They are the perfect little boost when you’re feeling run down or want to add a bonus pop of nourishment to your day. They are fun and easy to share with others who may be new to juicing or afraid of juicing. Given the tiny size of […]Read more
Do you know what kohlrabi is? Until last year I had never heard of it or seen one but now I’m well acquainted with this magnificent vegetable and it has a special significance for me. One day last summer, my beautiful, young, vibrant, fabulous friend told me she was getting a lump checked out, and […]Read more
These are two of my favorite recipes that I make every week. I can’t take credit for creating these recipes but I have adapted them to suit myself. I hope you enjoy them! RECIPE #1 – Gentle Juice This is a juice recipe I’ve adapted from Gerson Therapy’s carrot-apple juice, which is a staple of […]Read more
Sometimes I approach recipe creation like an art form: imaginative and playful, I experiment with an idea until I get it right. Other times, and more often than not, it is a haphazard approach, such as looking in the fridge and working with whatever items are there to create something edible and hopefully interesting! Bliss […]Read more
Wild Spring has an intriguing taste. The opposite of some of my sweeter creations, this green juice is earthy, spirited and fresh. This is the juice I drink when I want to feel absolutely alive! I don’t always want an easy breezy bowl of sweetness or a serene stroll around the park. Wild Spring is […]Read more
I find that what goes on in my kitchen is often a metaphor for my life. At this moment in my life and in my kitchen, I am craving simplicity. It is so easy to get swept up in the current of activities and get carried away, allowing things to become complicated and unnecessarily tiring. […]Read more
