Soothed

This soothing juice-smoothie recipe will cocoon your digestive system in gentle tranquility, calming and protecting you from the inside out.  It’s ideal for the day after indulgence or whenever you feel inflamed or bloated.

With a base of celery juice, the soothing effects begin with balance and detoxification.  The celery juice is fresh and sweet when blended with tummy healing fresh papaya.  Papaya is full of vitamin C and A, reduces inflammation and aids digestion.  Papaya seeds are extremely powerful, both in flavour and health properties.  The seeds destroy undigested food particles which irritate your gut, kill harmful bacteria and viral infections, and improve liver function!  The seeds have a bitter and peppery taste so I add contrasting flavours of maple syrup and lime to reduce bitterness.  This soothing concoction is topped off with ice and frozen mango to create a thick, creamy texture.
